Principal's message 4/5/24

Principal's message 4/5/24

Dear Adena Elementary Families,

I hope this letter finds you well!  We had an awesome week of school following our well-earned Spring Break. It has been wonderful to see our students return with energy and excitement for learning.

As we gear up for the final stretch of the academic year, I wanted to remind you all that the Ohio State Tests are just around the corner. Testing will begin next week, and it's essential that our students are well-rested, nourished, and prepared to "show what they know." Your support is greatly appreciated. Together, we can help our students feel confident and ready to tackle these assessments.

Please also note that Lakota Schools will be closed on Monday, April 8, due to the Solar Eclipse. This is a rare and exciting event, and we encourage families to take this opportunity to observe and learn about this natural phenomenon together.  All students are bringing home safety glasses to be worn if viewing the eclipse, and they have been reminded not to look at the sun without proper eye protection!

On another note, I want to take a moment to congratulate Adena's March Madness teams for their outstanding performance on the basketball court! Your hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship have been truly commendable. You have represented our school with enthusiasm, pride, and exemplary sportsmanship. Well done to all the players, coaches, families, and staff!

Thank you once again for your continued support and partnership in your child's education. Together, we make Adena Elementary a thriving community of learning and growth.

Wishing you all an enjoyable, long weekend!  Enjoy the Final Four and the eclipse!

With gratitude,

Kevin Thomas, Principal
