Our entire Adena team is focused on fostering student learners who are prepared to be innovative, life-long learners. Below is a list of key team members you may come in contact with as we partner to provide your child with a nurturing, engaging and enriching academic environment.
Kevin Thomas is excited to join the Adena family as its new Principal.
He started his Lakota career as a third grade teacher at Union Elementary. Mr. Thomas went on to become the Shawnee ECS Assistant Principal from 2015-2018, and then Principal from 2019-2022. He also served as an assistant varsity girls basketball coach for Lakota West from 2002-2015; the team won the state championship in 2015.
Mr. Thomas enjoys working with a committed staff who love to watch children grow academically, emotionally, and physically. He is a big kid at heart, and loves nothing more than having fun with his students!
He and his wife Maria, a nurse anesthetist, have two sons, Gabe and Luke. They reside in the Kings Local School District.
Jordan Eisenhard has been Adena’s Assistant Principal since the 2020-2021 school year. She enjoys creating positive relationships with students and staff, leading teachers in their professional growth and witnessing the impact it makes on Adena learners, and helping develop well-rounded, confident, and responsible individuals who aspire to become their best self. Prior to arriving at Adena, Mrs. Eisenhard was an 8th grade teacher, cheerleading coach, and athletic director at Lakota Ridge Junior High. She also served as the coordinator of Lakota’s Secondary Summer School program.
Diane Raack joined the Liberty Junior team as office manager in 2022. Previously, she held this position at Adena Elementary since 2017-18. She enjoys the daily challenges involved in ensuring that logistics and processes run smoothly, as well as special projects that pop up. She believes that, although the office doesn’t teach classroom skills, the office staff helps to teach soft skills, such as courtesy and giving adults respect by receiving respect from adults in return.
Mrs. Raack relocated from Oregon to Ohio in 2017 to be with her grandchildren. Since then she has found a second family at Lakota and absolutely loves her adopted home state.
Lesley Ferguson has been Adena’s Office Secretary since the 2020-21 school year.
Kelly Scarbrough has been Adena’s Innovation Specialist since the 2020-21 school year. Our Innovation Specialists provide our teachers with job-embedded professional development and coaching aligned with our district initiatives related to innovation and personalization learning. In addition to professional development, Innovation Specialists are also part of our curriculum and instructional design, along with the evolution of spaces such as the Innovation Hub to transform the learning experience for our students.
Lakota Innovation Specialists collaborate regularly as a K-12 Team and with our curriculum and technology departments to impact the K-12 learning experience for our students. Lakota is committed to preparing students for their future and our Innovation Specialists play an important part in helping us to transform the K-12 learning experience.
Mrs. Scarbrough enjoys working with the Adena Tech Squad, as well as teachers, students and families who are part of the Adena community. To contact Mrs. Scarbrough, please email her at email@example.com.
